As Ijaw Nation Mourns over the painful death of her sons and daughters on Sunday 11th, June, 2023. President of the revered Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Worldwide, Dcn Timothy Igbifa has direct that all council flags be fly half mast for three days to mourn the loss of their beloved.

The statement reads…

It’s a very sad moment for the good people of Ijaw Nation on the 11th June, 2023 as Ijaw Nation looses eleven (11) souls to a ghastly road accident.

In a way to show how painful the death is to the good people of Ijaw Nation, I have directed that all IYC flags be hoisted half mast for three(3) days beginning from today.

You are aware of the accident that occured yesterday in two different locations, one happened along Abuja road and another one happened along Asaba Road which took the lives of our precious Ijaw sons and daughters who were on their ways to Abuja for the national Assemblies inauguration and the other set were on their way to share up Bayelsa Queens in Asaba, it is indeed a very black day in Ijaw Nation.

I therefore in the spirit of love, oneness and empathy directs that all IYC flags be hoisted half mast for three (3) days, this will serve as a mark of honour to them even though they have gone forever but their spirit will be happy that we cares for them.

I commiserate with the families they left behind, believing in prayers that God will be with them and protect them.
