How Smooth Record Band Loses Ekeremieye, Ikesima, Others in Auto Crash as Ijaw Nation Mourns

It was a sad day for the Ijaw nation as Prominent and legendary Ijaw Musician, Chief Barrister Smooth lost six members of his popular band to a fatal road accident along the Abuja-Lokoja Highway on Sunday June 11.

The Network gathered that Smooth, whose musical band is admired across the Ijaw nation was traveling from Warri to Abuja for a show when the vehicle carrying seven of the band members got involved in an accident.

It was learnt that the popular band was engaged by a state government to thrill audience at the inauguration reception for National Assembly members in Abuja on Tuesday.

It was confirmed that six persons died instantly at the accident spot.

According to an eye witness account, the band members boarded a train from Warri to Kogi and were on their way to Abuja when the Toyota Siena car in which they were traveling had a collision with a tanker belonging to the NNPC.

It was learnt that three of the victims died on the spot while three others died in the hospital. The driver was also said to have died instantly.

According to the report, those feared dead include Chief Joseph Ekeremieye, Niger Delta highlife queen Ikesima Brown, Tuku, Sololo and others.

Since the news of the unfortunate accident was released, the Ijaw nation has been thrown into mourning.

Meanwhile, report also have it that female fans of Bayelsa Queens on their way to Asaba to cheer up their team was also involved in a fatal accident on Sunday along the Kwale-Asaba road.

The unfortunate event claim the lives of four vibrant Ijaw women while seven others sustained injures.

It is indeed a black, dark Sunday for Ijaw Nation.
