The leadership of the revered Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Ogulagha Clan has once again written to the Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Government Council, Chief Julius Takeme JP, over the uncompleted and abandoned health centre project in Ogulagha Community.
In a statement made available to newsmen in Ogulagha town, signed by its Chairman, Comr Keneware Emmanuel and Secretary Comr. Potoki Godspower, Council states that the project has long being abandoned after the Hon Godknows Angele administration, who kickstarted the project.
In their words “the Ogulagha Community health centre project has long being abandoned and over due for completion.
It is a shame that Ogulagha Community doesn’t have a primary health centre despite it’s huge revenue to the Council’s treasury.
“It is with that guilt that Rt Hon Godknows Angele under his administration as Council Chairman, initiated and kickstarted the Ogulagha health centre project. It is unfortunate that he could complete it before he left office and elevated as Honourable Commissioner for Housing, Delta State.
“Since then, the project has remain stagnant till date. What a pity?
“We have heard severally that the current administration has added the project in various budgets yet nothing practicable has being done.
The Ijaw Youth Council, will not remain silent seeing our people suffering.
We have written before, we are now writing again for the project to continue and be completed before the end of this year.
“If that is not done we will occupy the Council’s headquarters and shutdown working activities. We are urging the Council Chairman to avoid such looming protest and do the needful before November”. They added.
