His Excellency, Senator Douye Diri, Governor of Bayelsa State has appreciated Bayelsans and the good people of Kolokuma/Opokuma Local Government Area for their show of love, support, and solidarity on the 2nd day of the burial ceremony of his late father, Pa Abraham Diri in Sampou.
Day Two of the ceremony which was tagged “Kolga Day”, had a series of activities like Warboat Raggalia, wrestling contest, and Ijaw traditional music.
“My father’s death has become a celebration and you have supported me with food items for the burial.
I thank the people of Kolokuma/Opokuma for the show of support and solidarity”, Governor Diri said.
Governor Diri was joined by his wife, Dr.(Mrs.) Gloria Diri, former Managing Director, NDDC, Chief Timi Alaibe, Hon. Fred Agbedi, and other top government functionaries.
Pa AJM Diri, a retired Primary School headmaster passed on in February at the age of 88.
