Leading Presidential candidate for the forthcoming Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Worldwide election, Dr. Doubra Collins Okotete has appeal to the 117 delegates across the Zones, Chapters and Clans of Ijaw Nation to enthrust him with their votes, pledging that he would not disappoint them.
He vowed that if enthrusted with their votes, he will unite and defend the Ijaw course to the fullest and at all times.

A Passionate Appeal to the 117 Delegates of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide
My dear esteemed delegates across Delta, Edo, Ondo, Bayelsa, Rivers, Akwa Ibom, Imo, Abuja, and Lagos Chapters, I extend my warm greetings and profound appreciation for your unwavering commitment and sacrifices toward the progress of the Ijaw Nation.
As you prepare to make this historic decision, I humbly appeal that you allow facts, integrity, competence, experience, and proven service to guide your conscience.
Throughout my journey in the Ijaw Youth Council, I have been privileged to serve as Former Clan Chairman, Ogulagha Clan; Former Secretary, Western Zone; Immediate Past Chairman, Western Zone; and Immediate Past Chairman of the All Zones and Chapters Chairmen Forum. In every responsibility entrusted to me, I served with dedication, transparency, and measurable results. My records remain open, verifiable, and evidence-based.
Today, I present myself not as one driven by personal ambition, but as a servant-leader committed to building a more united, stronger, and progressive IYC. Together, we can deepen our collective struggle for resource control, environmental justice, self-determination, youth empowerment, and the protection of our communities through strategic responses to insecurity and other challenges confronting the Ijaw Nation.
I respectfully urge you to reject propaganda, misinformation, and empty promises. Let us rise above divisive politics and elect leadership founded on character, capacity, competence, experience, and a proven track record of service.
The future of our great Council rests in your hands. Together, let us write a new chapter built on unity, accountability, purposeful leadership, and sustainable progress.
I humbly seek your mandate and your vote. By the grace of God and with your support, I pledge to serve every chapter, every zone, and every Ijaw youth with fairness, courage, inclusiveness, and unwavering commitment.
Your vote is more than a choice—it is an investment in the future of the Ijaw Nation. As we usher in a new leadership within the next 24 hours, let us consolidate on the achievements of our past and present leaders while charting a greater path for generations yet unborn.
I warmly welcome all delegates, stakeholders, and well-wishers from across the Ijaw Nation to Yenagoa, the Jerusalem of the Ijaw Nation, and wish everyone a peaceful, successful, and credible electoral process.
