After several months of public outcry via news publications and social media platforms by the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Ogulagha Clan led by Comr Keneware Emmanuel, the Obuguru Community and other well meaning individuals, the Nigerian Federal Government through the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, in collaboration with the State Emergency Management Agency, SEMA, visit Obuguru Community, Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State to have first hand information on how the ocean surge has destroyed, displaced and rendered homeless the people of Obuguru, with properties worth millions lost, as a result of the ravaging coastal erosion.

While on the visit the Federal agency was accompanied by the Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Ogulagha Clan, Dr Franklin Magada, an environmentalist who facilitated the process after the several efforts of the IYC, and the Chairman, Burutu Local Government, Chief Julius Takeme, whose jurisdiction covers Obuguru Community and the entire Ogulagha Kingdom.
The Federal agency also visited Abarabebe Community, and part of Ogulagha Community, were same issue is taking place. The team acknowledged the sad effect of the ocean surge on the lives of the people and promised urgent intervention just has the community leaders and others who went with the team has stated earlier.

Council, sincerely acknowledge and thank the effort of Dr Franklin Magada for joining and facilitating the process that brought the Federal agency down to the community.
Council also heartily appreciate Dr Victor Oyinke Isereke for his massive support in conveying the NEMA and SEMA team has well as the logistics provided.

We urged the Federal agency to as a matter of alacrity hasten the process and brought relief materials to the community, and the facilitation construction firm, for shoreline protection.
