Women across the 23 Local Government Areas of Rivers State under the aegis of Rivers Women Unite for SIM have reiterated the call for peace and calm in the State for unhindered development.
The women in their monthly prayer session on Thursday at the main Hall of Rivers State Ministry of Women Affairs, Port Harcourt, urged detractors of the State Governor Siminalayi Fubara to embrace peace to promote unhindered development in the State.
A cross section of the women leaders who prayed for God’s intervention in the ongoing impasse in the State warned that the State should not be thrown into crisis in order not to truncate the progressive leadership being offered by Governor Siminalayi Fubara, noting that they will not be silent in the presence of conflict but continue to seek the face of God for peace.
Speaking to newsmen Christiana Tamunobereton Ari said the prayer network is beyond party lines irrespective of religion, as even Muslims are part of the monthly prayer session to intercede for the State.
Other women who spoke said with the prayers and supplication of the women in the twenty three local government areas, peace will continue to prevail in Rivers state.
The monthly prayer, Praise and thanksgiving meeting of the women featured special prayers for Governor Siminalayi Fubara, his family and administration as well as president Bola Tinubu for God’s wisdom to pilot the affairs of governance in River State and Nigeria.
