IPF Hail Kestin Pondi For Awarding 35 Scholarship To Ijaw Students In Delta

The Ijaw Publishers’ Forum, IPF, has commended its patron, Chief Kestin Pondi, the Managing Director of Tantita Security Services Limited for awarding 35 scholarship to deserving Ijaw sons and daughters, (including accommodation) to study Ijaw language in College of Education, Warri, Delta State of Nigeria.

The IPF’s president, Comrade Ozobo Austin made the commendation while addressing section of the media on the need of Ijaw political office holders to use their offices to groom youth and attract meaningful development to their communities during the weekend.

According to him, the gesture of Pondi had expressly stated his love for the Ijaw language, his people, desire to preserve the Ijaw language from going extinction, and it further showed his passionate desire to help humanity across board, adding that what he had done is one of the best services offered to Ijaw nation.

Speaking further, Ozobo said Pondi’s benevolent, charismatic and transformational leadership are first of its kind, adding that the scholarship offered to the 35 Ijaw sons and daughters would go in along way in preserving the Ijaw dialect beyond ages.

The group frowned at some Ijaw political office holders who out of sentiment and greed deprived their youth from benefiting thousands of opportunities in their offices despite it is on government expenditure.

He said, “l commend Chief Kestin Pondi for his continuous and selfless charitable and philanthropical services to humanity. He has written his name in gold in the Guinness Book of records. I cherish his courage and drive for sustaining it. We need more of Pondi’s benevolent and selfless sacrifices to transform and advance our youth and communities.

They, however, urged Ijaw political office holders to emulate Pondi’s gesture by using their offices to groom youth, women and attract meaningful development to their communities rather than closing doors against their people.
