MR. PRESIDENT SIR,
RE: URGENT CALL FOR THE IMMEDIATE REVOCATION OF PIPELINE SURVEILLANCE CONTRACT AWARDED TO SEVEN OCEANS OIL AND GAS LTD/ KOJO SAM LOGISTICS LIMITED/LABRADOR SECURITY OUTFIT:
A CALL TO DISREGARD AS COMPLAINT MADE OUT OF SENTIMENT, MALICE AND SELFISH INTEREST.
The 10th National Executive Council of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide ably led by Comr. Dr. Doubra Collins Okotete, has become aware of a highly vexatious letter openly addressed to His Excellency and published on the Vanguard Newspaper of Thursday 3, September, 2026, wherein the author One Mr. Kelly Nengimote, called for the immediate revocation of pipeline surveillance contract awarded to Seven Oceans Oil and Gas Ltd/Kojo Sam Logistics Limited and Labrador Security Outfit.
Mr. President Sir, relying on political concerns and unproven nexus, the said Kelly Nengimote based his call for the revocation of the award on his personal opinion without due consideration of the facts on ground which most certainly should include but not limited to:
1. Is the contractor now petitioned against not delivering on its obligations under the contract? To this end, the IYC as a dispassionate apolitical body very conversant with the facts can authoritatively verify that the Seven Ocean which has for over a decade engaged in the business of pipeline surveillance and oil and gas security has performed meritoriously well, as even available evidence with the Tantita records show that it has won countless Best Contractor Awards under the Initiative. Kojo Sam Logistics and the Labrador Security Outfit has been known to provide cutting edge technologies and managerial dexterity that has ensured the steady rise of crude oil production in Nigeria, recently surpassing the OPEC quota. Moreso, evidence on the ground shows that there has not been a single reported sabotage in the lines/lots awarded to Seven Oceans Oil and Gas/Kojo Sam Logistics Limited/Labrador Security Outfit.
2. Does the Management of Seven Oceans Oil and Gas nor Kojo Sam pose electoral threats to the All Progressive Congress (APC) and President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR? It is of common knowledge that Mr. Kojo Sam a philanthropist and business man is a card carrying and foundation member of the APC in Bayelsa, he is also the Bayelsa East Coordinator of the PBAT Door-to-Door Movement. It is also common knowledge that Seven Oceans and Kojo Sam Logistics continually supports the Government and initiatives of the APC through huge donations and sponsorships and gifts to the Party in Bayelsa and faithful members, contrary to claims by the author of the September 3rd, 2026 Vanguard Newspaper publication.
3. Does the Said Mr. Kelly Nengimote represent the popular opinion? While we make no pretence to know every single Ijaw man by name, there is no available evidence to confirm the existence of anyone by that name, and even if he does exist, in fact, the opinion as expressed in his highly misleading letter is simply his own opinion and does not in any way represent a major opinion. The IYC sees the publication as vexatious and an attempt by someone to pull down the handlers of Seven Oceans Oil and Gas/Kojo Sam Logistics Limited/Labrador Security Outfit, by playing a handed down political script in a very basic and cheap attempt at blackmail hinged on creating an imaginary nexus between a fugitive and these companies.
Mr. President, the National leadership of the IYC being leaders of Ijaw youths and sworn protectors of the Ijaw interests globally, will not sit and fold our arms as a handful of aggrieved or disgruntled persons driven by greed or their selfish agenda, take wicked counsel and band together in a nefarious attempt to pull down other Ijaws.
We like to assure you that this call for revocation if allowed to inspire future directive of the Presidency is capable of jeopardizing the security of pipeline infrastructure along with the rising production, but also bringing about conflicts and insecurity in parts of the Niger Delta.
We like to use this medium to call on all those instigating and or attempting unnecessary crisis in the Niger Delta by the now very familiar tactics of pull down/drag down of fellow Ijaws. We like to remind all that countless other Ijaws who held sensitive offices in previous times, were pulled down by fellow Ijaws who envied their positions then, but unfortunately after pulling them down, the offices and privileges were never given to those who brought them down, but rather to others (mostly non-Niger Deltans).
Ijaws are not the only ones benefitting from the Nigerian state, as a matter of fact we get the barest minimum, and instead of protecting that little, we are always eager to fight ourselves to the dead to collect that which has been given to fellow Ijawman.
The 10th NEC of the IYC is resolved to protect every one of our kin, and in that resolve, we assure even those in office today (Ministers, Contractors, Legislators and etc from Ijaw extraction) that should there be an attack on their person or interest after leaving office, the IYC and Ijaw youths shall remain duty bound to stick our necks for them, but they (presently in office) must ensure that the needless tussle for office and contract be checked.
Mr. President Sir, it is therefore our position and call that the petition as forwarded by Mr. Kelly Nengimote via the open letter published on the Vanguard Newspaper of 3 September, 2026 be disregarded and ignored in its entirety, that a directive issued to the Office of National Security Adviser, the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Petroleum Resources (Oil) and the Managing Director of Tantita Security Service Ltd, to maintain the status quo on the matter and jettison all instruction (that may have been issued) to the contrary.
