DESOPADEC Continues Work on ‘Storm Water Flood Control’ As Ochonogor Visits Mandate Areas

The rapid response intervention by the Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission DESOPADEC, in synergy with Ministry of Environment on storm water flood control in the Mandate Areas, has continued unabated simultaneously, at Airport Road drainage system, Kosini Canal Warri and Otovwodo drainage system in Ughelli, yesterday Tuesday 25th July, 2023.

At the Airport Road drainage system, the opening up and evacuation of wastes and debris,has advanced rapidly close to the Total Filling Station Round About, along Airport Road, opposite the Delta State Board of Internal Revenue Headquarters.

Work also has reached an advanced stage at the Kosini Canal, linking Edjeba waterway, behind School of Nursing Warri, as the Swamp Boogie continued action steadily on clearing the canal and waterway.

Similarly, work also continued on the Otovwodo junction drainage system in Ughelli today, as pay loader, trucks and Swamp Boogie continue action, to empty the drainage system in the areas.

The Ughelli drainage system, storm Water flood control work, which was flagged off yesterday at Otovwodo junction, is intended to de-silt the drainage, to make for a free flow of water, through the channels, which carry water from Agbara, through Otovwodo to Oteri Community in Ughelli.

According to the MD/CEO DESOPADEC, Chief Festus Ochonogor, the ongoing intervention covers all the DESOPADEC Mandate communities
