Frontline Aspirant for National Spokesman, Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Worldwide and former Information Officer of IYC Western Zone, Comr. Awipi Lawson has wept bitterly, expressing his grief over the sudden, shocking and untimely demise of Elder Mike Wenibowei, a critical stakeholder in Council and former chairman of IYC Central Zone.
Awipi in a statement disclose to newsmen on Tuesday 20th, 2023 in Yenagoa, noted that Wenibowei has dutifully paid his dues in the Ijaw liberation struggle and written his name in the sand of time that will forever be remembered.
“As chairman of Council in Central Zone, Wenibowei stood fearlessly, intrepidly, spoke boldly and defended the Ijaw course.
He created a nationalistic speaking space for younger generation to follow and was imbued with the spirit of Boroism.
“His death is a monumental loss to the Ijaw Youth Council and Ijaw Nation at large.
Wenibowei will be greatly missed as a result of his viable and tangible impact, immense contributions and visibly undeniable legacies he left behind.
“With deep grief and sorrow in my heart I condole with his immediate family and loved ones as well as Ogboin clan IYC, the Central Zone leadership for the great loss and pray that God Almighty grant them the fortitude to bear the irreplaceable loss.
