The National leadership of the revered Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, led by Dr. Doubra Collins Okotete has extended their congratulations to the new Zonal Executive of the IYC Central Zone led by Dr Patrick Enebraiye on their emergence on the just concluded Zonal elections, which took place at the Gabriel Okara Cultural Center, Yenagoa, Bayelsa State.
The NEC, in it’s congratulatory message via it’s National Spokesman, Comr. Victor Ibaningo, urges the new Zonal leadership to prioritize the “IJAW FIRST AGENDA” of the Council President, as well as consolidate on the gains of their predecessor.

The statement reads in full…
On behalf of the COMR. DR. DOUBRA COLLINS OKOTETE led National Executive Council of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Worldwide, I write to formally congratulate you Dr. Patrick Enabraiye on your emergence as the Chairman of the Ijaw Youth Council (IYC) Central Zone. NEC similarly extends its Congratulations to all elected members of the Central Zone Executive Council, for finding favour in the sight of God and the Ijaw youths in the zone.
It is the view of the National Executive Council that this election was keenly contested amongst brothers, hence there is no victor and no vanquished, in so far as the process has been just, fair and credible, Ijaw nation remains the ultimate victor, thus; those that emerged should serve with humility and purpose, rather than spend time basking in the euphoria of election success, and quickly extend a hand of brotherhood to all compatriots in the interest of our unity as a people.
I am further directed to invite the Chairman and elected Executives of the Central Zone to upon its inauguration get onboard the “IJAW FIRST AGENDA” of the 10th National Executive Council, even as our Leadership stand ready to offer our support and encouragement to all Zonal and Chapter Leaderships for a progressive collaboration, unity of purpose, focus, and drive.
Mr. President and all members of the National Executive Council wish you well and pray that you succeed in your desire to serve the motherland – Ijaw Nation.
Congratulations.
