The Ogulagha Youth Association has called on Government at all levels, various interventionist agencies like NDDC, DESOPADEC among others and IOCs to ensure that a landing jetty and dredging of the canal is prioritize and made immediately.
The Youths stressed on the need to have a landing jetty were speed boats can have a soft landing and passengers not suffer the tides.
Ogulagha Community Youths at the Clean Up Exercise
The youths make the call on Saturday 3rd, June, 2023, at the general sanitation and clean up exercise of the Ogulagha waterfront.
While speaking to Briga News Correspondent, President of Ogulagha Community Youth association, Comr. Austin Tukorogha expressed immense gratitude to the youths for their large turn out in the exercise, noting that it is first of it’s kind for the waterfront, which is the main access and entry point of the community to be thoroughly clean.
The waterfront which is hipped with dirt, waste and faeces was thoroughly clean by the Ogulagha Youths, making it beautiful, tidy and beholding.
Speaking further, President Tukorogha also make case for the dredging of the canal which will enable the free flow of water into the Atlantic ocean.
He states that the project which he perceive to commence anytime soon will be of a great help to the people of the community.
He called on relevance agencies to fast track it.

On his part, chairman of the oil rich Ogulagha Community, Amb John Tuaghaye Bebeapre also express his euphoria and satisfaction of the clean up and sanitation exercise embarked upon by the leadership of the youths in the community, stating that it is laudable and highly commended.
The clean up exercise witnessed a massive turnout of Youths both male and female as well as non indigenes of the community.
The leadership of the central executive of the community was also present to supervise the exercise.
Ogulagha Community is an oil rich community in Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State. It is the host to the popular Forcados Terminal Ogulagha, various multinational oil companies, IOCs, flowstations amongst others.
