The Chairman, Olorogun John Nani, MD/CEO, Chief Festus Ochonogor and the Board of DESOPADEC on tuesday 28th November, 2023 unveiled Daddy Showkey as the new face of DESOPADEC and brand ambassador.
DESOPADEC is an abbreviation of Delta State Oil Producing Area Development Commission.
During the unveling, The MD/CEO, Chief Ochonogor, stated that due to the change in the Board and information management, there was a need to get a Brand Ambassador who is a grassroot mobilizer and who has a street credibility hence they deemed it fit to choose Daddy Showkey.
According to him, the ambassador’s major functions are to project the image of the Commission in a positive light and to reach out to a more massive audience through their social media handles by developing content in line with the M.O.R.E. agenda of Governor Sheriff
He said the Board has taken this step because it is believed that adopting this approach will go a long way in bringing the Commission closer to the people.
he said the choice of Daddy Showkey as an ambassador was critical because his worth is known as being very popular and has the desired local content to improve the image of the Commission and manage some of the challenges that are being faced since his name is well known all over the nation.
Responding, the new brand ambassador of DESOPADEC, Daddy Showkey thanked the Board and Management of the Commission for the opportunity given him to serve his people in his own State and promised the Board that they will not regret using his face.
Daddy Shokey who hails from Olomoro Kingdom in Isoko South LGA of Delta State, said he would be working closely with the MD and Board members to salvage our youths from the streets because the situation of our country today has led many of our youths astray.
Daddy Showkey said since he became brand ambassador, a lot of international organizations have signed him on to bring succour to the people of our mandate areas.
He therefore pleaded with the Board to help ensure that these projects get to the desired people who are not their family members so that they can testify at the end of the day.
Daddy Showkey said he was glad that Governor Sheriff is a grassroot person and by the time he starts rolling out his programs, the evidence will be seen. He appreciated the Board for the good work they have done so far, acknowledging the fact that the task given to him is the greatest honour that has been given to him in his career.
