Delta 8th Assembly: Preyor, Guwor, Sinebe, Others Battle for Speakership

As the Delta 8th Assembly is set to be inaugurated on Tuesday, June 13, 2023. The race for who led the house as the 8th Speaker is on the top banner.

Delta State has three Senatorial District; the North, South and Central.
The Central has produce the Governor, in person of Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori. While the North has produce the Deputy Governor, in person of Sir. Monday Onyeme.

The Speaker is Zoned to the Delta South Senatorial District.
Our source gathered that the Ijaw ethnic nationality in the South Senatorial District is the highest contenders for the speakership. While there is also the Itsekiri and Isoko ethnic group in the district. The Ijaw Lawmakers seems to be the leading contenders.

On the list of contenders is Hon. Kenneth Oboro Preyor representing Bomadi Constituency. He is a fourth term member of the house and one of the oldest and ranking member. He has chairman many Committees in the house and is seen to be an experience lawmaker as a result of his years in the house.
Preyor, is a leading contender for the office of Speaker in the 8th Assembly.

Next is Hon. Emomotimi Guwor representing Warri South West Constituency.
Guwor is a second term member of the house. He serves as the chairman House Committee on DESOPADEC in the 7th Assembly.
Guwor is also a top contender in the house speakership.

On the list also is Hon Emmanuel Sinebe representing Patani Constituency. He is a second term member of the house.
Sinebe was return to the house as a result of his credible performance.
He is also a top contender for the house speakership.

On Tuesday, June 13, 2023, the house will be officially proclaim and inaugurated by Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori the longest serving speaker in the history of the state and now the 5th Executive Governor of Delta State.

Same day, the house will elect their speaker and deputy speaker.
