The NYSC Akwa lbom State Coordinator, Mrs. Chinyere Ekwe has commissioned borehole project built by Corps Member, Vivian Ibekwe, AK/22C/1470 at the premises of Ikot Ofon Ikono Police Outpost.
Mrs Ekwe, who extolled the Corps Member for her ingenuity in executing such laudable project also commended the Local Government Chairman and other community leaders for providing the necessary support for the project.
She also appreciated residents of the community for the enabling environment and hospitality enjoyed by the Corps Members and further appealed to the DPO to always give priority attention to the security of Corps Members whenever the need arises.
The project initiator, Miss Ibekwe, a Corps Medical Doctor in her response noted that her personal CDS project was borne out of her desire to make meaningful contributions to her host community.
The Chairman, Uyo LGA, Honourable Uwemedimo Udo who sponsored the project expressed delight in the Corps Member’s location of the borehole; saying it will be beneficial to the entire community and also be secured by the police. He further promised to improve more on Corps Members’ welfare in the LGA.
There were goodwill messages from the Nigeria Police and some Community Stakeholders while the Uyo LGA Legislative and Executive Council members including NYSC Staff and Corps Members attended the event.
