The Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Emomotimi Guwor, has commended the Uvwie Local Government Council for taking proactive steps towards development. Guwor made this statement while commissioning the newly built Ekpan Modern Market and Abattoir, executed by the council.
The Speaker, who was flanked by notable dignitaries, including the Executive Chairman of the Delta State Internal Revenue Service, Hon. Solomon Ighrakpata, and the Ovie of Uvwie kingdom, His Royal Highness, Emmanuel Sideso, Abe 1, commended the council’s efforts in improving the lives of its citizens. He assured the council of the Delta State House of Assembly’s continued support for grassroots development.
Guwor also conveyed Governor Sheriff Oborevwori’s gratitude for the progress in Uvwie, reaffirming the administration’s commitment to further development in the locality. He noted that Uvwie has transformed into a major construction site, a testament to the State Government dedication to development.
The Speaker congratulated Abe 1 for the relative peace in the locality and prayed for unity and progress in the kingdom. He emphasized that true leadership is about serving the people and making a positive impact on their lives.
As part of the commissioning ceremony, 15 women from the Ekpan community received empowerment support from the Council Chairman. Guwor, who was the Special Guest of Honour, supported the empowerment program with a donation of half a million naira.
The Chairman of Uvwie Local Government Council, Hon. Anthony Ofoni, expressed gratitude to Guwor and Ighrakpata for their unwavering support and encouragement. The commissioning of the Ekpan Modern Market and Abattoir marks a significant milestone in the development of Uvwie Local Government Area.
