Hon. Chief Ferguson Onwo representing Isoko South Constituency ll and member elect for the 8th assembly is among top contenders for the office of Speaker Delta State House of Assembly.
Hon Ferguson, who serves as Majority leader of the 7th Assembly under the leadership of the current Delta State Governor, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori JP.
Briga Newspaper gathered that Hon Ferguson Onwo is returning to the house as a second term member haven’t served as Majority leader between 2019 to 2023.
The house speakership is zoned to the south Senatorial District and Isoko’s who occupied two local government (Isoko North and South) is part of it as well.
Ferguson Onwo has join top contender like Hon Emomotimi Guwor of Warri South West Constituency, Hon Kenneth Oboro Preyor of Bomadi Constituency and Hon Emmanuel Sinebe of Patani Constituency.
Source discloses that there is serious lobbing, enticing and luring of house members in Asaba, the State Capital.
The house is set to be inaugurated tomorrow 13th June, 2023 by Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and subsequently members elect, will elect the speaker and deputy speaker of the house.
