Popular Nigerian comedian, Emmanuel Chukwuemeka Ejekwu, famously known as Sabinus, has joined the growing call for urgent government intervention following the brutal massacre in Benue State.
In a heartfelt post on his official Facebook page, Sabinus condemned the killings and urged the government and security agencies to act swiftly to protect lives in the region.
The comedian’s message comes in the wake of a horrifying attack on the Yelewata community in Guma Local Government Area, where over 150 people, mostly internally displaced persons, were reportedly killed by armed attackers in an overnight raid between June 13 and 14, 2025.
“Our government and all the relevant security agencies, we are begging you to intervene in the ongoing killings in Benue State. Every life matters,” Sabinus wrote. “We can be victims too. Please go and help the Benue State people. They need urgent help.”
He added that he and his team stand in solidarity with the victims, declaring, “We lend our voice in the fight against the unjust killings going on in Benue State.”
The Yelewata massacre is one of the deadliest in recent times, targeting a community already hosting displaced persons from previous attacks. Homes were razed, families wiped out, and survivors left traumatized and homeless.
