Panic has gripped Obianime-Ama Community in Okrika LGA, Rivers State, following a broad daylight leakage from a ruptured pipeline suspected to be carrying condensate

Sources told Kristina Reports that the affected pipeline belongs to the Pipeline and Products Marketing Company (PPMC), a subsidiary of NNPCL.

The leak occurred around 2:30 PM on Sunday, March 23, 2025, near a PPMC facility.

Residents struggled to contain the spill and later cordoned off the area, restricting movement until repairs could be made.

A source at the Port Harcourt Refinery suggested vandalism as the likely cause, but a local resident dismissed the claim, insisting the pipeline had simply aged.

“E no fit happen. People dey guard the place every night. The pipe don old, na to replace am put new ones,” the resident said.
