The Ogulagha Youth Association has sympathize with the crew, staff and management of Brittina-U Nigeria Limited over the fire incident and disaster that rock her Floating Production Storage and Offloading Facility, FPSO, at Ajakpa Field, OML 90, 10.77 nautical miles, South of Forcados Terminal in Delta State, Nigeria, on the 18th of July, 2024.
In a press briefing by President of Ogulagha Youth Association, Comr. Austin Tukorogha, and it’s Executives, the revered youth body call for calm, and states that the spill arising from the incidence has caused great loss to our Communities such as Beniboye, Ibabebe (Isiayegbene), Youbebe, Ogulagha, Obuguru, Osain and several villages.

The negative impact on our air, water and land can not be overemphasize.

A brief interview with the current Chairman of Okuntu Community, Pastor Mofort Mebilaje, who shows several sample of the direct impact on the massive oil pollution caused by the incident, also state that there is massive pollution in the environment with several airborne and waterborne diseases that are rampant.
The Youths called on the Federal and State Government, the National Emergency Management Agency, NEMA, the National Oil Spill Detection and Response Agency NOSDRA and other relevant authorities to initiate the JIV process with immediate effect, which will facilitate the clean-up, remediation and supply of medical and relief materials to the affected communities.
