The national chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC), Abdullahi Ganduje, has identified good governance as the solution to the increasing military involvement in African politics. He called upon leaders across the continent to enhance the well-being of their citizens as a means to curbing the growing military influence in politics and governance.
Ganduje made these remarks during a courtesy visit by the national chairman of Ghana’s ruling party, the New Patriotic Party (NPP), Stephen Ayensu Ntim, to his residence in Asokoro, Abuja, on Sunday.
The APC chairman expressed concern about the living conditions of many Africans and urged leaders at all levels in Africa to diligently provide good governance to alleviate the suffering of their populations. He emphasized that political parties play a crucial role in preventing military interventions in Africa.
Ganduje also highlighted the longstanding historical ties between Nigeria and Ghana, emphasizing the commonalities shared by both countries.
Mr. Ntim, accompanied by Ghana’s Ambassador to Nigeria, Rashid Bawa, stressed the importance of collaboration between the ruling APC in Nigeria and the NPP in Ghana to maintain political power. He emphasized the value of sharing ideals and learning from the APC’s experiences.
Ntim’s visit to Abuja was in preparation for the launch of the book titled “Beyond Beauty,” authored by Dr. Blessing Agbomhere, the APC South-South Youth Leader and a member of the party’s National Executive Committee (NEC).
