The Bayelsa State Chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) hereby notifies its leaders, stakeholders, and statutory delegates of the forthcoming National Convention scheduled to hold in Abuja from March 29 to March 30, 2026, while reaffirming its full readiness and commitment to a successful participation. The convention, approved by the National Executive Committee (NEC), will elect members of the National Working Committee (NWC). The State Chairman, Hon. Barr. Alabh George Turnah, MON, stated that the ongoing reorganization of the PDP, from the Ward, LGA and State levels to the national stage reflects a deliberate effort to rebuild and reposition the party for greater national relevance. He expressed confidence that the PDP is regaining its strength and is well on course to reclaim its pride of place in Nigeria’s political landscape.
The convention will also formally ratify the honourary title and position of “National Leader of the PDP” conferred on His Excellency, Chief (Dr.) Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, CON, Honourable Minister of the Federal Capital Territory. It is noteworthy that this prestigious recognition was first initiated and proclaimed by the Bayelsa State PDP under the leadership of Hon. Barr. George Turnah, MON.
The Bayelsa PDP urges all delegates to participate fully, comply with all accreditation guidelines, and uphold the values of unity, discipline, and democratic conduct, as the party consolidates its gains and advances towards a stronger and more cohesive future.
