IYC Parliament Passes Vote Of Confidence On Rivers Governor Sim Fubara

••Approves the convocation of National Convention

The Parliament of the revered Ijaw Youth Council, IYC, Worldwide on Wednesday 18th December 2024, passed a vote of confidence on the Rivers State Governor, His Excellency, Sir. Sim Fubara.

The Parliament in her inaugural plenary at Agbeni Barego Complex, Port Harcourt city, in a briefing made by Chairman of the IYC Eastern Zone, Comr. Prince Datolu on the fierce fight against an Ijaw Son as Governor of the State after years of marginalization precisely 1999 till 2023.

The house in a unanimous voice vote passed a vote of confidence on His Excellency, Sir Sim Fubara, vowing to stand by him, with him and resisting any opposition.

Speaker of the 6th Mobile Parliament, Rt Hon Allen Gabriel Tomoni stated that the oppression of the Ijaw people in Rivers State is a well known matter and should be given the utmost national importance. Hence, the Parliament is strongly and solidly behind Sir. Sim Fubara an Ijaw Son from Opobo and will join forces to resist any opposition.

In a similar light, the Parliament also mandated the Eastern Zone Chairman, Comr. Prince Datolu to stop one Alaye Theophilus who claims and parades himself has President of IYC that only operates in only Eastern Zone.

Through a motion moved by the Deputy Speaker, Rt Hon Collins Okpako, the Parliament urges Prince Datolu to take full charge of his Zone alongside National officers and the Eastern Caucus of the Parliament to not allow any intruders or impersonators of the revered Ijaw Youth Council, IYC.

The Parliament, also after an extensive Deliberations, approves the convocation of the National Convention slated to hold on the 20th of December, 2024, at Odi town, Kolokumo/Opokumo Local Government Area of Bayelsa State, Central Zone
