How Dignitaries Converge For Late Chief David Pere Canopy Dropping

Warri……………. On Friday, August 9, 2024, notable figures from various walks of life gathered to condole the family of the late Chief David Pere, former Chairman of the Warri South-West Local Government Area Council. Chief Pere passed-on, on August 7, 2024, at the Sage Clinic in Warri.

The canopy-dropping ceremony, held in his honor, was attended by a host of dignitaries, including Chief Tunde Smooth, Chief Frank Omare, and Rt. Hon. Julius Pondi, the member representing Burutu Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives. Also in attendance were Hon. Alalpa Ebitonmo, Member of the Delta State House of Assembly, Chief Julius Takeme, Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Government Area, along with his Vice, Chief Hon. Mrs. Georgina Evah, and former Commissioner for Oil and Gas, Chief Emmanuel Amgbaduba.

Other prominent attendees included Chief Dan Yingi, Mr. Clement Moni, Chief Barry Etolo, Hon. Paul Kurugbe, Mrs. Eunice Angozi, Hon. Godwin Edumogren, Hon. Amafini Akemotubo, Special Adviser to the Speaker of the Delta State House of Assembly, and Hon. Spencer Okpoye, Commissioner representing Ijaw on the DESOPADEC board.

The ceremony was also graced by numerous other distinguished guests, including Chief David Omare, Chief Samson Oyimi, Barr. Akoubodo, and many others, who gathered to honor the legacy of Chief David Pere.
