Delta Speaker Guwor, Assures Of Continous Collaboration With Media Practitioners

Speaker, Delta State House of Assembly, Right Honourable Emomotimi Guwor has reaffirmed the commitment of the State Legislature to continue collaborate with media practitioners in promoting the activities of the Eight Assembly.

Rt. Honourable Guwor stated this when he alongside some principal officers played host to Executives of the Delta Online Publishers Forum, DOPF, Indigenous Correspondent Chapel and the Asaba Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union Journalists.

Addressing excos of Delta Online Publishers Forum, DOPF, the Speaker Right Honourable Emomotimi Guwor said the 8th Assembly under his leadership will continue to make laws that will be beneficial to Deltans and the state at large.

Rt. Hon Guwor who stressed that although it was the responsibility of the Executive to implement laws enacted, noted that the house through the committee on Legislative compliance continue to interface with relevant stakeholders on the implementation of laws made by the house.

The Speaker while addressing members of the Indigenous Correspondent Chapel as well as Asaba Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigeria Union of Journalists who were on separate visit, called on them to always uphold objectivity, fairness and always verify information in the reportage of the activities of the Delta State House of Assembly.

Rt. Hon. Guwor while commending the various media groups for their role, assured that the State Legislature will continue to partner with media practitioners as they continue to promote the activities of government.

Earlier in their separate remarks, Chairman of the Delta Online Publishers Forum, DOPF Comrade Emmanuel Enebeli, Chairman of the Indigenous Correspondent Chapel, Comrade Kenneth Orusi and the Chairman, Asaba Correspondents’ Chapel, Mr. Ifeanyi Olannye advocated on the need for legislative action to address the growing environmental challenges in Delta State.

While commending the Speaker and members of the house for their robust legislative duties in the last one year, they solicited the support of the house for their upcoming programs and projects.

Some Principal officers of the House were in attendance at the courtesy visit.
