The Executive Chairman of Burutu Local Government Council Hon. Chief (Dr) Julius Takeme (JP) has congratulated the Governor of Delta State, Rt. Hon. (Elder) Sheriff Oborevwori, former Governors, founding fathers, all leaders in the state and all Deltans on the occasion of the 33rd anniversary of Delta State.

The council chairman, in a statement, expressed gratitude to the former Military President, Gen. Ibrahim Babangida, for the creation of the State 33 years ago.

The council boss prayed that God who brought them together in love will continue to strengthen them to achieve greater unity and prosperity as a State under his Divine Grace.

The statement reads, ‘ I revel the peace, unity and progress in our State since its creation in August 1991 despite the obvious diversity in culture, language and political affiliations from which we derive a huge brotherly love and large-heartedness of Deltans. The vision of our founding fathers and the commitment of successive leaders in managing the affairs of the State are quite inexpressible’. The council chairman particularly lauded Governor Sheriff for fostering greater love, unity and progress amongst the various ethnic nationalities in the State especially through his administrative mechanism in the MORE Agenda which has brought unprecedented development across the State in the last fifteen months.

“I sincerely celebrate the efforts of the Governor and other distinguished sons and daughters of Delta State for their commitment and patriotic efforts in projecting our beloved State in good light in all areas of human endeavor both national and international. I am quite overjoyed with the peace and progress so far and I urge all Deltans at home and Diaspora to continue in their patriotic spirit and in supporting Governor Sheriff Oborevwori and other leaders at various levels so that the State can achieve its full potentials in line with the vision of our amiable Governor and the founding fathers”.
