The Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) has announced that 65% of repairs on the vandalized 132kV Ahoada-Yenagoa transmission line have been completed.
According to TCN, 17 damaged towers have already been erected, with work progressing on the remaining three.
TCN also said power will be restored back to Bayelsa State on November 6, 2024
Bayelsa State has been in darkness for over three months since suspected vandals damaged two key 132kV transmission towers (Towers T98 and T99) that supply electricity to the state from Ahoada.
Further investigations revealed that 21 towers along the line had been compromised.
