In a unanimous decision by the people of Amatu 2 Community, Ekeremor LGA of Bayelsa State, the Amananawei Of Amatu 2 Community, HH Eric Ebifiegbene has endorsed Mr. Ewereikumo Joseph has the Interim Chairman of the community.

This follows the indefinite suspension of Mr. Peter Ebomowei David by the community.
The decision was reached during a town hall meeting and an official letter was written to the Amananawei Of Amatu 2 Community concerning the decision of the community.
After careful examination of the issue, and for the purpose of peace and progress. The Amananawei endorsed Mr. Ewereikumo Joseph has the acting chairman of Amatu 2 Community and directed all correspondences to him.
In a letter to the Manager, Corporate Relations, Shell Petroleum Development Company Limited, the Amananawei backs the decision of the community.

Letter Of Endorsement
With reference to a letter dated 12th April, 2025 from the Amatu 2 Community informing me of the suspension of the former Chairman Mr. Peter Ebomowei David and the nomination of former Vice Chairman, Mr. Ewereikumo Joseph as the chairman.
I hereby endorse as follows ; that Mr. Peter Ebomowei David has been suspended and that Mr. Ewereikumo Joseph has been nominated has the Interim Chairman of Amatu 2 Community till further notice. Please attach is the letter from the Community.
Therefore, channel every correspondence concerning Amatu 2 Community to the Interim chairman.
