Youth Leader of the Oil rich Ogulagha community, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State, Comr. Emmanuel Richard has lament the pitiable state and fast eroding nature of Communities in the kingdom.
Richard, in a statement sent via email to Briga News, states that the Federal Government continuous delay in building up a shore protection to prevent the Communities from being washed away, made them to be at the risk of perpetual extinction.
He particularly lament Government slow response in tackling this menace yet fast-force in milking their crude oil.
“The government should come to our aide, Obuguru Community is on the line for extinction, the shore protection at the Ogulagha cemetery lane have all collapsed”.
“We call on the government at all levels particularly the federal government with which we contribute immensely to the nations federation account as a result of our vast natural endowment on the liquid gold”.
“The government must show commitment that it loves her citizenry by protecting them, and not just milking them of their crude oil.
Briga Media gathered that the high tidal current is responsible for the fast eroding nature of the Communities. And government has continued to turn deaf ears on this very critical matter of urgent importance.
