Ashaka—–As part of his desire to bring succour to his people owing to the current hardship being experienced as a result of the fuel subsidy removal, Deputy Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress, APC, in the March 18 gubernatorial polls, Rt. Hon. Friday Osanebi today kick-started his emergency food assistance program.
According to Osanebi, he decided to launch the emergency food assistance program as a means of supporting those who can barely afford one meal a day, adding that his target is to reach twenty thousand households by the end of the program.
“As you know already, owing to the ‘necessary’ removal of fuel subsidy by President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, we all have witnessed a sharp spike in the prices of food commodities.
“As someone who feels the pulse of my people, I decided to launch the emergency food assistance program to bring succour to my people before the economy settles and status quo returns, Osanebi said.
Speaking at the location of the food bank in Ashaka, Principal Secretary to Osanebi, Idi Presley said the program is devoid of any political colouration.
Presley said it’s the usual style of Osanebi to always step in to put smile on the faces of his people during difficult times like this.
In closing, Presley said that while they will continually bring items to the food bank, the program will also be taken round Delta till the target of twenty thousand households is reached.
