Ogulagha………………… As the 2024 OKYC football tournament kickoff today, President of the Ogulagha Kingdom Youth Council, OKYC, Comr. Roland Pere-ebi Dede alongside the National Sport Director, Comr. Godfrey Ifitibou unveils the prize trophies marking the beginning of the tournament.
In his opening remark, Dede thank the entire youths of Ogulagha Kingdom for their prayers, support and encouragement towards his administration thus far.
He states that this football tournament is to further bond us together as a people in unity and love. While appealing to the footballers to play safely and be fair, noting that it’s a festive season.
Hence, having injuries or fracture is not welcome.
Meanwhile, the opening match was between Youbebe FC and Obotobo 2 FC at the Ekpebiwei Primary School Field, Ogulagha.
While the match ended a 1:1 draw. Obotobo 2 FC won in a penalty shoot-out, scoring 4 goals to Youbebe’s 2 goals.
The football pitch which was filled to the brim had in attendance people from all works of life including the Chairman of Ogulagha Community, Amb John Tuaghaye Bebeapre.
The OKYC is the apex youth body housing the entire youths of the oil rich Ogulagha Kingdom, Burutu Local Government Area of Delta State.
