The Senator representing Delta South Senatorial District, Sen Joel-Onowakpo has received Chief Dr Chris Ekiyor in his office, who paid him a Strategic visit to discuss issues of mutual interest that will benefit the Senatorial District.
The Vice Chancellor of Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Prof. Emmanuel Munakurogha Adigio was also there with Dr Chris Ekiyor at the maiden visit.
The engagement, which was done in closed doors was fruitful and promises more growth in the region with a view to championing legislative bills that will positively impact on the people of Delta South Senatorial District.
Chief Dr. chris Ekiyor congratulated the Senator on his recent appointment as Chairman Senate Committee on Local Content, adding that it will boost local content policies and strategies which is an important instrument to promote development and poverty reduction.
He also commended Senator Joel-Onowakpo for the giant strides taken thus far in representing the people of Delta South in an unprecedented manner within a short period of time.
He appealed to the Senator to push for the consideration of the Federal School of Nursing, Patani, Federal Polytechnic, Bomadi and other infrastructures in Isoko and Itsekiri  areas of the senatorial district .
“I will continue to support your progressive agenda and people oriented legislation in the Senate. You have shown capacity, resilience and dedication in the discharge of your representation in the red chamber. You are making us proud”, Dr Ekiyor said.
