Governor Siminalayi Fubara of Rivers State has expressed satisfaction with the pace of work on the landmark 12.2 kilometers Trans-Kalabari road project execution as piling on Phase 1 meets 75% completion.
The governor during inspection of the project on Monday, October 27, 2025 alongside the Management of Lubriks Construction Company predicted how much the road project would transform lives of Kalabari people when completed.
Sir Fubara said, “I personally came here to inspect this project. This is the Trans-Kalabari road we flagged off about a year ago. I’ve been getting reports from the Ministry of Works, but I felt the need to come and see for myself what is happening here.
“As you are aware, the first phase of this project will take us to Bakana. This first phase has 4 river crossing bridges and almost 5 decks on piles. This project is purely a very difficult one because of the terrain.
The governor noted that with what he has seen, he can rightly attest to the reports that almost 75% of the piling job which is key in completing the road has been achieved.
“By the grace of God in the next 6 months I am very positive when we are coming for inspection again we might run through the bridge.”
Gov. Fubara reiterated the promise made to the State that his administration will continue to embark on projects that will impact positively on the lives of the people and bring development closer to them.
“As you can see, this is a key project that is going to turn around the lives of the Kalabari people immediately it is completed.”
