As the Delta Council Polls draws nearer, several aspirants across the state and Burutu Local Government in particular has shown interest to occupy the seat.
However, not many has come in the open to declare their interest to the leadership of the party. In line with that, Hon. Pastor Akposafagha Benedict Seimode has on Monday May 6th, 2024 officially and openly declared his intentions to run for the Burutu Council Chairman.
The event which took place in Burutu, headquarters of Burutu Local Government Area witness a mammoth crowd who came to receive Pastor Akpos Benedict Seimode and his entourage at the jetty.
Briga Media can reports that the massive crowd followed him from the jetty at the waterfront with songs of victory and dancing to the Burutu town hall where the event took place.
It was gathered that several people from various works of life where present to witness the declaration ceremony.
Speaking Onbehalf of Pastor Seimode, Barr Sam Ikporukpo gave a critical analysis of the past Council Chairmen in Burutu from inception and appeal that ward 11 and Ogulagha Kingdom in particular be given the opportunity to produce the next Council Chair.
Stating that Akpos Seimode standout among all others. He urges the Burutu stakeholders and leaders to look at Seimode’s rich academic and political profile and his capacity to deliver.
In his speech, Pastor Akpos Benedict Seimode thank the Burutu Local Government party leadership and the eleven (11) ward Chairmen for finding out time out of their busy schedule to grace the occasion. He also appreciate the Burutu community leadership, elders Council as well as youths and women who came from far and near to grace the event.
He promised never to let them down if given the mandate. He promised particularly that if elected portable water will be provided for the Burutu people.
According to him, “Power supply is one of the greatest issue but if elected, I will make sure there is steady power supply in Burutu town that will attract investors and fast track infrastructural development. Burutu will be restored to his glory days. As campaigns kickstarts I will roll out my blue print for the development of Burutu and her people.
On his part, Hon. Peremobowei Amakama, PDP youth leader of the local Government thank Pastor Akpos Seimode and his team, lauding his capacity, resilience and integrity. He urges him not to relent but keep pushing that God will crown his efforts with glory.
Speaking further, Hon Lawson Ogeh, Acting Chairman PDP Burutu Local Government Area, hail Pastor Seimode visionary and foresight blueprint, enjoining him to take his campaign to the top just as he has brought it to the grassroot. He said goodmen like him deserves the seat and be allowed to man it.
Present at the event is Hon. Lawson Ogeh, Acting Chairman Burutu PDP, Hon Peremobowei Amakama, Youth Leader, Chief Francis Ama-owei, Assistant Secretary, Madam Esther Evah, Mr. Wilfred Boumiebi, Organizing Secretary, Mr. Bunness Ogedegbe, Mrs. Dories Apiakise, Mr. Puma Omodi, Barr Ebikefe Youkore, Mr. Cleric Alaowei, legal Advicer.
Also present is the eleven (11) ward Chairmen, Burutu Community Executive led by the Chairman, Mr. Patrick Binebai, the Burutu Elders Council, youths, women and many several others.
