The Congress TV/Newspaper, a fast-growing media organisation based in the Niger Delta, has expressed profound appreciation to eminent leaders, stakeholders, traditional rulers, public office holders, professional bodies, civil society organisations and women groups across the region for their overwhelming support towards the successful celebration of its fifth anniversary.
The media organisation, founded by a proud son of the Niger Delta, Hon. Comrade Ozobo Austin, said the remarkable success of the anniversary celebration was made possible through the goodwill, support, encouragement and solidarity it received from individuals and organisations committed to the growth of indigenous media in the region.
In a statement signed by the Publisher, Hon. Comrade Ozobo Austin on behalf of the management said the organisation specifically appreciated the National Chairman of the Pan Niger Delta Forum (PANDEF), Ambassador (Dr.) Godknows Boladei Igali; the National President of the Ijaw National Congress (INC), Chief (Barr.) Macdonald Igbadiwei; and Amb. Jude Ebitimi Ukori (JP), former Chairman of the Egbema/Gbaramatu Development Foundation, who chaired the landmark ceremony.
The statement also conveyed appreciation to Wing Commander Peter Yerindi Biakpara (Rtd.), former Nigerian Air Force officer and former Delta State Commissioner for Agriculture; Chief Akpos Meze; Bayelsa State Director of Pipeline Infrastructure Nigeria Limited (PINL); Chief Sheriff Mulade, Ph.D, National Coordinator of the Centre for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ); Dr Paul Bebenimibo, registrar of the Nigeria Maritime University, Okerenkoko, Delta State, Hon. According to the Publisher, the encouragement received from respected leaders and organisations across the Niger Delta has strengthened the organisation’s resolve to remain a credible, independent and people-oriented media platform dedicated to truth, accountability and responsible journalism.
Ozobo reaffirmed Congress TV/Newspaper’s commitment to promoting good governance, defending the interests of the Niger Delta people, amplifying the voices of the underserved and upholding the highest standards of ethical journalism.
He assured supporters that the organisation would continue to justify the confidence reposed in it by providing accurate, balanced and impactful reporting while contributing meaningfully to the development of the Niger Delta and Nigeria at large.
The Publisher also prayed for God’s continued blessings upon all individuals and organisations that identified with Congress TV/Newspaper during its fifth anniversary celebration, describing their support as a source of inspiration for greater achievements in the years ahead.
